Heading into hot vaxed summer, you're probably on the market for new toys. Sure, you may have contributed to the bump in sex toy sales during 2020, but now you're vaxed and waxxed and looking for something fresh. Something that could be used in either solo or partner play. Perhaps you're queer and would love something genderless.
That toy has arrived: the Enby 2, by sex toy retailer Wild Flower.
The Enby 2 is the next iteration of the original Enby, which was released by Wild Flower in 2019. The name comes from the initials "NB," short for non-binary, and is designed to be used by anyone no matter their anatomy.
The Enby was the company's best-selling item according to CEO Amy Boyajian and COO Nick Boyajian. Customers for the original Enby are buying the redux, furthering its popularity.
What does the Enby 2 look like?
Looking at the Enby 2, you can tell right away it's not the "typical" vibrator. It doesn't look like a wand, bullet, or even a clit sucker. As it's designed to fit all bodies, including non-binary and trans, though, that's unsurprising.
The design is reminiscent of a mermaid fin. The sides are flexible, allowing it to curve around itself. The curved bump of the vibrator when upright is also flexible, making it easy to use in different positions, the Boyajians said. The toy's flat bottom also makes the Enby 2 versatile — it can enable users to lay it on their bed for grinding, for example, or use it in conjunction with another toy, like a dildo. For those with penises, you can wrap the flexible sides of the toy around the shaft for extra stimulation.

The Enby 2 is also designed to be tucked into a harness, say one that attaches a dildo. As the tip of the toy is flexible, it can curve around the body in a harness. Not only can it increase pleasure, but customers have told Wild Flower that the toy can act as a buffer between the body and the harness, which can prevent uncomfortable friction between the two. Wild Flower noted that, based on user feedback, the toy works best in a snug-fitting harness.
The Boyajians believe its versatility makes the Enby, and now the Enby 2, so popular. The Bop-It-like description on their website perfectly encapsulates this: "Hump it, rub on it, tuck it in a harness or put it between two bodies."
Using the Enby 2
Before trying the Enby 2 myself, I charged and cleaned it (reminder: clean your sex toys whenever you use them!). Like many other waterproof and submergible sex toys, the Enby 2 has a magnetic port charger. But, like other magnetic port chargers, it needs to be exactly situated in order to charge — the magnet falls easily so you have to make sure it's attached while charging.
This isn't something unique to the Enby and it enables it to be waterproof so I don't consider it a big problem, and certainly wouldn't let a magnetic port charger stop me from purchasing a toy. They're finicky, yes, but allow you to use the Enby in the bath or shower. Plus, you don't have to worry about getting water in the wrong place when cleaning.
Keep in mind that I'm a cis woman and have only tested Enby 2 solo thus far, but I've had a great experience with it.
Given its unique flat bottom, I first propped the toy up on some pillows to try grinding on it. The Enby 2's vibration is powerful even on the lowest setting — twice as powerful as the original, according to Wild Flower's website. The Boyajians said that the newer motor is both larger and heavier, causing a stronger and deeper vibration.
While I never tried the first version, I did find the vibration powerful while grinding on it; it was great while being more stationary on my stomach. I also tried this toy as I use most other vibrators: lying on my back and holding it to my crotch.
I had fun using the toy in all these ways. In addition to different modes of use, the Enby 2 has three speeds and three patterns: consistent vibration, start and stop vibration, and pulsing. The battery life is also generous at 1.5 to two hours, which the founders told Mashable is longer than that of the original.

I haven't used the Enby 2 tucked inside a strap-on myself, but given the toy's versatility in other areas — and its bestseller status — I assume it can only be a great experience. I also haven't used it rubbed against two bodies. Both of these activities are on my list of what to try with the Enby 2, however.

For such a versatile toy, the price is on point. At $74.99, you're almost getting multiple toys in one. I'll be real, I love my wand vibrators, but they don't have anywhere close to the variety of the Enby 2 — and they're pricier and bulkier to boot.
It's worth noting that the brand stirred controversy last year when Wild Flower sued a Black-owned business ENBY, LLC, claiming to trademark the common reference to non-binary people for the sale of sex toys. In a statement to Mashable, Wildflower said:
Wild Flower is aware of and disappointed by the harmful narratives spread on social media and in media reporting, as many lack factual background. Factually, Wild Flower acquired rights under trademark law to use the term "enby " as a brand name in relation to the sale of sex toys. Wild Flower offered no less than three opportunities for a company called Enby, LLC (which is selling sex toys and related products using the branding “Enby”) to have a conversation and ameliorate the trademark violation out of court. Unfortunately, Enby, LLC chose to process the matter through court and launch a campaign of complex misinformation about Wild Flower's trademark protections and a profoundly inaccurate account of how Wild Flower handled the dispute. They inaccurately suggested that Wild Flower aims to take the term "enby" away from the queer community; Wild Flower’s use of “enby” as a trademark does not bar anyone from using the term “enby” in any way, including in relation to the sale of sex toys, except where it is being used as branding for the sale of sex toys and related goods/services. These factually inaccurate attacks and drawn-out legal procedures have torpedoed an important opportunity for small LGBTQ-owned businesses to collaboratively protect one another from larger corporate entities that actually threaten to co-opt and seize ownership of queer culture, language, and business.
Even with this controversy, the original Enby was Wild Flower's top-selling toy. I'm not surprised the Enby 2 is continuing that trend; it excites me with all the ways I'm dreaming of using it. If you're looking for a sex toy with a variety of uses at a reasonable price — especially if you're queer — the Enby 2 is worth checking out.
