Unless you haven't been on the internet at all for the past few days, you're probably aware that the first official trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI has finally dropped, and it's already breaking records. Not only does the trailer look amazing — showcasing landmarks from the GTA universe's iconic Vice City (which we haven't gotten to revisit since the early aughts), impressive NPC technology, and a pretty sick Tom Petty needle drop, among other things — but we also have a release window: 2025. Now, that may not be as specific as some of us had hoped, but it's not so far away that we should be tempering our excitement.

In fact, we think you should completely give in to the excitement and play through Grand Theft Auto V in anticipation of the next game. It's only $19.99 right now on PlayStation 5 (and just $17.99 on Xbox), and if you haven't experienced the game's story or GTA Online yet, we implore you not to skip it.

As with most triple-A Rockstar titles, Grand Theft Auto V is a sprawling open world filled with plenty of activities to take part in, characters to interact with, and shenanigans to be had. You'll return to the Southern California-based San Andreas (first seen back in 2004's Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas) and play through the wild, satirical story of three criminals looking to make it big in the city's seedy underbelly, planning heists, boosting cars, and partaking in completely over-the-top missions that we wouldn't want to spoil for you. Once you're done with that, you'll be able to hop over to GTA Online to wreak havoc in the streets with your friends.
